The Driftwood Players opens its season tonight with a 1958 Agatha Christie murder mystery, “The Unexpected Guest.”
As usual in Christie’s thrillers, the audience has an entire cast of suspects to weed through: Is it the wife of the dead man found standing over her husband’s body with a gun in her hand? The husband’s mistress?
Maybe it’s the dead man’s mother, or perhaps it’s goody-two-shoes Miss Barrett.
“The Unexpected Guest” is directed by Martin J. Mackenzie and the suspects include Basil Bourque, Trevor Brandt, Meagan Castillo, David Foster, Jon Loina, Vicki Lynn Maxey, Thomas Kai McLellan, Juliana Pereira, Steve Ruggles and Justin Tinsley.

The Taproot Theatre continues tonight with “The Matchmaker,” a Thornton Wilder comedy that was the inspiration for “Hello, Dolly.”
A matchmaking widow, Dolly Levi, meddles with the love life of weathy businessman Horace Vandergelder leading to a complicated web of lies, surpises and hilarious complications.
“The Matchmaker” is Taproot’s final selection for 2013. It runs Wednesday through Saturday evenings with Sunday matinees, through Oct. 19. Tickets are $15 to $40 and available by calling 206-781-9707 or at the box office, 204 N. 85th St., Seattle.
