EVERETT — A driver who reportedly had been speeding crashed his car into several vehicles east of Everett Thursday night, critically injuring his passenger.
A witness called 911 around 7:30 p.m. to report a hit and run on Lowell-Larimer Road, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Shortly afterward, other 911 callers reported that the driver of a black passenger car had lost control and crashed his car.
The crash occurred a few hundred yards east of the intersection at Lowell-Larimer Road and Marsh Road.
An Everett man, 31, in the passenger seat was critically injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Ireton said.
The driver was identified as an Everett man, 34. He reportedly ran from the crash scene.
Several homeowners and others in the area called 911 to report the location of the driver, who was found near the 6500 block of Lowell-Larimer Road.
He was taken into custody but later released while detectives continue their investigation, Ireton said.
