Prep football: Lakewood 27, Meridian 12

BELLINGHAM -- Lakewood scored twice on defense and the Cougars downed Meridian in a nonconference contest. Brett Bustad had a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown and Jacob Van Winkle scored on a 46-yard fumble recovery. Palmer Gregory led the Cougars offense with 86 yards on the ground.
