KEVIN CONSTANTINE
Head coach
Constantine, a 54-year-old originally from International Falls, Minn., is beginning his second stint as Everett’s head coach. He succeeds general manager Garry Davidson, who served as interim coach last season after Mark Ferner was fired in January.
Constantine makes a triumphant return following a six-year hiatus. He was hired as the first head coach in franchise history in 2003, spending four seasons at the helm. In those four seasons Constantine guided the Tips to a 162-97-20-9 record, three U.S. Division championships, one Western Conference title, and the 2007 Scotty Munro Trophy for the league’s best record during the regular season. In 2004 he received the Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as the WHL Coach of the Year for guiding the expansion Tips to the WHL finals.
Constantine spent the previous six seasons coaching in the professional ranks. After leaving Everett he spent three seasons with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, guiding the Minnesota Wild affiliate to a 117-94-11-18 record. The past three seasons he coached in Europe with Ducs d’Angers in France and HC Ambri-Piotta in Switzerland.
MITCH LOVE
Assistant coach
Love, a 29-year-old native of Quesnel, B.C., enters his third season as an assistant with Everett. He runs Everett’s defense.
Love became a cult figure in Everett when he played for the Tips from 2003-05, serving as captain in 2004-05. Following his time playing for the Tips he spent six seasons playing professionally in the minors before returning to Everett. He is the first former player to join Everett’s coaching staff.
MARK LeROSE
Assistant coach
LeRose, a 43-year-old from Aspen, Colo., begins his second stint as an Everett assistant. He served as an assistant under John Becanic from 2007-09. He specializes in skating and skill development.
LeRose has prior experience working under Constantine as he left Everett in 2009 to spend one season as an assistant with the Houston Aeros. He served as head coach of the NAHL’s Wichita Falls Wildcats in 2010-11, then spent the past three seasons working for teams in Austria and Sweden.
