Catcher in the wry

What's a bananafish, anyway? "Salinger," the new documentary about "Catcher in the Rye" author J.D. Salinger, explores the famously private writer and his struggle with fame. While exhaustive, the film bogs down from its kitchen-sink approach, writes the reviewer.

But what does she know? She just a phony like all the rest of them.

Wii will, Wii will rock you: Seattle Mariners majority owner Hiroshi Yamauchi, the Japanese billionaire who turned Nintendo into a video game powerhouse, has died.

With his passing, Yamuchi's ownership stake transfers to Nintendo of America, meaning daily management decisions can be made by anyone with a Nintendo Wii controller.

No soup for you: Republicans in the U.S. House voted to slash $40 billion from the food assistance program commonly referred to as food stamps. The cuts would reduce or eliminate aid for 4 million Americans and end school lunches for 200,000 children.

When asked what those same Americans should do when hungry, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Versailles, replied: "Let them drink tea."
