It looks like this weekend is going to be a little wet. If it’s putting a cramp in your outdoor plans, maybe these videos and links will cheer you up a bit.
Let’s start off with this video. I’ve always wanted to be able to fly. Now I want to even more. This video of a bald eagle was taken with a camera on the back of an eagle in Mer De Glace area in France.
A 13-year-old girl just completed the triple crown of hiking. She is now the youngest person to hold that rare title. For the record, the triple crown is the Pacific Crest Trail, the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Divide trail. Reed “Sunshine” Gjonnes is from Salem, Ore., and did the hikes with her father, Eric “Balls” Gjonnes. I think I’m going to start taking my 3-year-old daughter on longer hikes.
Now let’s move on to a little dancing. This trail cam caught some really great footage of grizzlies showing off their moves. The really good stuff starts at about 50 seconds in. But don’t skip forward. It’s all worth watching. Hang around until the end for an unexpected visitor.
I have put our baby gate away too early. I might just pull it out again. This is a great little trick to add some exercise to your life. In short, put a baby gate in a doorway you use often. Step over it each time you go in and out. You’ll work your whole legs and improve your valance. Usually I think gimmicky exercise are lame, but this would actually be useful for hikers and backpackers.
Here’s a sweet little video with lovely shots from Yosemite. It makes me desperately want to go back. And the song with it is a good one.

Finally, The Clymb has some suggestion for maintaining the correct balance between work and adventure. If you get it right, your adventures fuel you up for work and your work makes you crave some time outside.
