“In His Hands”: The Christian rock opera by local composer Susan Olmos returns to the stage after a 30-year hiatus as a benefit for homeless children and teens. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. May 13, 3 and 7:30 p.m. May 14 and 3 p.m. May 15 in the theater at Mountlake Terrace High School. Olmos is the Holy Rosary Edmonds Church music director. Everett Community College: Students perform original comedy sketches on stage at 7 p.m. May 20 at EvCC’s Baker Hall, room 120. EvCC is one of three schools working with SketchFest Seattle members to develop comedy skills and create a short set. Students will perform at the three schools and end the tour with a show at 7 p.m. May 27 at The Pocket Theatre in Seattle, where they will open for Seattle sketch comedy group Day Job. Students participating include Sean Costello, Casey Cummins, Caitlin Goldsberry, Tyler Hamilton, Sarah Hudson, Jacy Leavitt, Christa Moushey, Colin Pinter, Josh Read and Carl Rodriguez. Performance coaches are EvCC theater instructor Beth Peterson and comedian Clayton Weller. The show includes mature content. Children age 6 and younger should not attend. Admission by donation. High School Plays

“Big Fish”: Monroe High School play at the school’s performing arts center, 17001 Tester Road, Monroe. Shows are 7 p.m. May 13 and 14. “Big Fish” was a smash hit on Broadway and made into a movie in 2003. It tells the story of a father in poor health trying to reconnect with his adult son after years of the father being away from home due to his career as a travelling salesman. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

Dance

Reflections School of Dance: At 3 p.m. June 18, the school presents its annual recital, “Colors,” at Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. Recital tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. More information is at www.reflectionsschoolofdance.com.
