EDMONDS — An 82-year-old Edmonds woman was injured slightly after encountering two men who broke into her home Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in the 22800 block of 75th Avenue W.
One of the suspects was arrested minutes later, Edmonds police Sgt. Mark Marsh said.
A Lynnwood police dog was used to try to track down the other man after he ran across Highway 99, Marsh said. Officers from Mountlake Terrace, Brier, Lynnwood and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office aided in the search.
When the woman arrived home, she noticed a broken window, Marsh said.
She walked into her house to find two men inside.
They assaulted her before running off, Marsh said.
Medics evaluated the woman at her home. She did not need to go to the hospital.
Police were able to recover a backpack containing some of her stolen property.
