The final season of “How I Met Your Mother” will take place over one very long weekend as Robin and Barney (Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris) prepare for their wedding. Of course, we’ll finally get to know the “mother.” 8 p.m., CBS.
James Spader stars in “The Blacklist,” one of the season’s more promising dramas. He plays Raymond “Red” Reddington, a long-wanted fugitive who offers to help the FBI catch bad guys. 10 p.m., NBC.
Tuesday
Grab the Kleenex “NCIS” fans. The new season launches with two episodes largely devoted to bidding farewell to beloved Ziva (Cote de Pablo). (8 p.m., CBS).
Wednesday
Yes, it’s a Springsteen song, but “Born in the USA” is also the title of the Season 2 opener of “Revolution,” which is back for more lights-out action and suspense. 8 p.m., NBC.
“Modern Family” returns for Season 5. Still laughing? If so, you’ll be glad to know that the opener is an hour long. 9 p.m., ABC.
Thursday
As “The Big Bang Theory” launches Season 7 with back-to-back episodes, Leonard returns from the North Sea to find out that Sheldon and Penny have been spending some quality time together. 8 p.m., CBS.
Friday
Temperamental chef Gordon Ramsay’s latest is “MasterChef Junior,” a reality series that has him working with kid cooks and doing his best to hold his tongue. 8 p.m., Fox.
Saturday
Don’t agree to take a college-entrance exam for a friend, because if your score isn’t high enough, you could end up dead. Thanks to “The Cheating Pact” for that one. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
