SPOKANE — The Spokane City Council has approved purchasing body cameras for its police officers.
The cameras are seen as a way to reduce complaints filed against officers as well as lessen use of force.
The Spokesman-Review reported thatthe council unanimously approved the cameras Monday night.
Police in Airway Heights began using the body cameras almost four years ago, while Coeur d’Alene started using them last year.
