FHC mechanics begin annual inspections

  • Cory Graff

There are two basic seasons at the Flying Heritage Collection -- Fly Days and "annuals." Now that the flying performances are finished for the year, FHC mechanics are beginning extensive annual inspections on all of the flying aircraft. First up this fall is the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-5. Many of the panels and cowlings are removed as staffers check out every part of the plane. It's a time to lay eyes on everything, learn about the inner workings of the aircraft and make small adjustments. Over the next few months, more aircraft will join the Focke-Wulf, being readied (already) for next year's flying schedule.
