The fishermen aboard the Fjord Mist sent a distress call around 8:30 a.m., stating that their vessel was taking on water and sinking. Two boat crews from the Quillayute River station were deployed as well as a helicopter from Port Angeles.
After a water pump failed to stem the water the flow, the three fishermen were taken in.
The Coast Guard said that by 11:30, the vessel had sunk in 103 feet of water about two miles west of James Island.
The vessel was reportedly carrying around 150 gallons of fuel. A fuel sheen was seen in the area.
