I am voting for Jeff Rasmussen for City Council, and I hope that you will, too! When I think of the important characteristics of a public servant — fairness, empathy, responsibility, and dedication — I can’t think of a person who embodies these traits more than Jeff.
My husband and I have been running partners with Jeff over the last year, and have all been training for a marathon together. This means we have gotten to know each other very well during the many hours of conversations we’ve had. One’s true nature comes to the surface during long runs, and with Jeff, we have learned that what you see is what you get — his reasonable, moderate, compassionate nature is just as evident at the finish line as it is at the start.
Jeff served on the parks board because he felt a responsibility to help care for the parks where his son would be playing, and he’s running for city council for the same reason — to help Monroe be the best place for his son to grow up. His only “agenda” is to deliberately study every issue to answer the question, “Will this make Monroe a better place to live?” Jeff’s ability to see both sides and to try to find the best solution for everyone makes him exactly the kind of person we need on the Monroe City Council. I’m asking you to join me in voting for him!
