EVERETT -- Jackson scored two goals inside the first 13 minutes and held off a furious Snohomish comeback attempt to snap the Panthers' six-game winning streak.
Olivia Miller put the Timberwolves ahead in the fourth minute after beating a Panthers outside back and then finishing from 6 yards out. Nikki Hovland doubled Jackson's lead eight minutes later when she headed home Lynnae George's cross. The quick start was something Jackson head coach Jesslyn Kellerman felt her team needed.
"We knew Snohomish is a good team and we knew we he had to set the pace (early on)," said Kellerman. "We possessed the ball really well and got into the seams (of the Snohomish defense)."
Ellie Otteson pulled a goal back for Snohomish in the 52nd minute from a Liz Daly assist, but Jackson was able to withstand further Snohomish pressure to extend the T-wolves unbeaten streak to six games and secure three vital points.
"Huge win," said Kellerman. "The (Wesco 4A) North is a competitive league. . .every win against the North is going to help us out and we know Snohomish is going to give the other teams in the South some problems."
