MUKILTEO — Going into the final race, the 400-yard freestyle relay, Kamiak needed a first- and third-place finish to beat Shorewood for the first time since 2006.
The Knights got it. The team of Angeline Dovinh, Lyndsey Willis, Laura Johnson and Ingrid Straume won the race in a time of 3 minutes, 47.61 seconds and the other Kamiak team took third to lead the home team to victory. Kamiak won five individual events and the final relay and also tied for first in another event.
In the 50 free, Dovinh and Shorewood’s Ari Norberg tied for first in a time of 26.38 seconds.
