I cannot believe that anyone favors a government shut-down because the Republicans are so opposed to the Affordable Care Act. Delaying the bill a year is nonsense and everyone knows it. If this bill has so many flaws, why haven’t the Republicans spent the past four years fixing those flaws — they don’t want anything Obama proposes to succeed — plain and simple. I hope Americans are getting sick and tired of all this nonsense in the Congress.
I just watched a news program where a Republican Congressman said it really didn’t matter if the government shut down as any lost pay would be retroactive so it would be nothing more than a paid vacation for those government employees who will be furloughed. This attitude is despicable — so many Americans live paycheck to paycheck, thanks to the Congress not passing a jobs bill. Even a few days without pay can be devastating for a family that relies on receiving their paychecks on time. Interesting to me is the fact that Jim DeMint has more power over Republicans than John Boehner. The fact that these very wealthy foundations threaten a primary fight if there is any disagreement with their philosophy is flat scary to me. It’s time to stand up for democracy. The Republicans who hate Obama so much need to get over themselves and start thinking about the good of the country and not their wealthy donors.
