TACOMA — A Tacoma woman who earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old son has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
In her plea paperwork, 29-year-old Aleesha Walker said she was “extremely sorry.” She was sentenced Friday by a Pierce County judge.
The News Tribune reported that prosecutors say Walker slammed little Noah Sanford’s head against a dresser, then smothered him in March 2012. Court records show she called 911 to report she’d “just murdered” the boy.
Walker’s father told the newspaper last year that his daughter had reported hearing voices shortly before Noah’s death.
