In a televised news report on some local eighth grade school children who are traveling to Washington D.C., who now won’t be a able to visit the Smithsonian exhibits, Washington or Lincoln memorials because of federal government shutdown, the students were saying that elected officials could not compromise.
So I was wondering what exactly is the “compromise” the Republicans would make? They would not shut down government or taking further steps to damage the economy if the Affordable Health Care Act, passed by Congress and upheld by the Supreme Court, was delayed or canceled?
It reminds me of the child who “compromises” with his parents: “Give me what I want for Christmas, and I won’t start a fire in the garage.”
