Oct. 8, Point No Point: Meet at 7:20 a.m. at the Wade James Theater, 950 Main St., Edmonds. We’ll take the ferry to Kingston and bird the voyage, the docks, Point No Point and Foulweather Bluff. Pack a lunch. Trip Leader: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.
Oct. 15, Silvana Roads: Meet at 8 a.m. at Quilceda Village Walmart west of Marysville (I-5, exit 200). Park away from store, to the east, near Quilceda Blvd. and I-5. Could spot northern shrikes, pectorals or a sharp-tailed sandpiper. We may visit the Port Susan Nature Conservancy site. Pack a lunch. Trip Leader: Virginia Clark, 360-435-3750.
Oct. 22, Serpentine Fen and Blackie Spit: Meet at 7 a.m. at the Quilceda Village Walmart west of Marysville (I-5 exit 200). Park away from store, to the east, near Quilceda Blvd. and I-5. Expect to see waterfowl, raptors, gulls, shorebirds and songbirds. Walking involved. This is a trip to Canada so bring your passport or enhanced driver’s license. Pack a lunch. Oct. 20, Mount Rainier, Old Mine Trail: Meet at 8 a.m. at Everett Mall near LA Fitness and the Everett Transit Center. It’s an easy 3-mile round-trip along the old road with a quarter-mile steeper trail to the mine site. Bring snacks for the trail. May be stopping for a light lunch on the drive back.
