The Wenatchee World report that Sean Esworthy must serve a day in jail within the next month. He also paid nearly $1,000 in court fines and costs and lost his driver's license for 90 days. Esworthy entered his plea Monday.
Esworthy was stopped June 15 by a state trooper for driving without headlights. The trooper found the man had slurred speech, flushed skin and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Esworthy refused to take a breath test or field sobriety test.
The newspaper said he has been an associate since 2011 with the Wenatchee firm that acts as the city's legal counsel. He has not managed city prosecutions since early spring, instead handling civil cases.
