ARLINGTON — Jackson capped a perfect run against Wesco 4A North opposition with a 1-0 win over Arlington on Thursday.
Olivia Miller finished off a scramble inside the Arlington penalty area in the 20th minute for the match’s lone goal as the Timberwolves won their sixth straight match and are unbeaten in their past nine contests.
“At the beginning of the season we knew we had to do well against the North,” said Jackson head coach Jesslyn Kellerman. “Beating all (five) of the North teams was one of our goals and now (having accomplished that) it puts us in a good position.”
Jackson goalkeeper Callie Vanaelst made a critical save in the first half, denying a breakaway opportunity to preserve the Timberwolves’ lead. But neither team generated many chances as both had just five shots on goal each.
