Prep football: Shorewood 17, Shorecrest 14

SHORELINE -- Shorewood intercepted a pass with 36 seconds to play, drove to the 10-yard line and Isaak Whitaker kicked a 27-yard field goal with 7 seconds remaining to give the Thunderbirds the Wesco 3A South win. The game-winning field goal was the only score of the second half.
Shorewood scored both its touchdowns in the first quarter, starting with a 10-yard run by quarterback Aaron Okamura. Shorecrest answered with a 5-yard scoring run by Michael Fisher, but Shorewood retook the lead on a 69-yard scoring run by Anxhelos Pere.
Shorecrest's Nik Hendricks connected with Aaron Kelly on a 16-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to send the game into halftime tied 14-14.
