SEATTLE — A man who pleaded guilty to raping an 80-year-old suburban Seattle woman and a disabled woman in Bellingham has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
The Seattle Times reported that 26-year-old Moses Kelly was linked to the attacks because his DNA was on file from a prior arrest for a carjacking in California. He was sentenced Friday in King County Superior Court.
King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg said in a statement that the case shows “what a powerful tool DNA upon arrest can be.”
The elderly woman was attacked in Kirkland last Oct. 25. The Bellingham rape occurred two weeks before that.
