Here’s a nice bit of news from Edmonds:
In September, Police Chief Al Compaan marked his 35th year at the department. That makes him the longest serving officer in city history.
The chief said the anniversary says more about his department than about him. Staff even surprised him with a maple bar, his favorite treat.
The time has passed quickly, he said.
“I think the thing that really sticks out in my mind is this community,” he said last week. “The community has been very supportive of the department, and supportive of me, and it’s been my absolute honor to work here and serve this community and this profession.”
