I found out that the Tulalip Outlet Mall is going to be open on Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and then opening again at midnight for black Friday. I called the mall manager, I believe he said his name was Mark and asked why they are now open on Thanksgiving. He explained to me that those outlet malls that are in a tourist area, or where the majority of shopper are from out of the area will be open this Thanksgiving. After questioning him, he finally said that the Tulalip Mall is open to accommodate the Canadian shopper. I asked him, when did Marysville become part of Canada? At the end of the conversation Mark said that it is optional for the stores whether they are open or not.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not opposed to stores being open on Thanksgiving (don’t really think it is right that stores are open on a national holiday) But what made me furious is that the Tulalip Mall is only going to be open Thanksgiving Day so Canadians can shop.
