Scott Murphy, Everett City Council candidate, has a broad background that combines business and finance experience and extensive involvement in community service. I believe he has integrity, vision and an impressive track record that brings a well-rounded perspective to the council.
Scott was appointed to the City Council in January and got up to speed quickly. He has served on the council’s budget/finance committee and been the council’s liaison to the Public Facilities District (Comcast Arena).
Scott has been a CPA for 28 years and served in significant leadership roles during that time. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Goldfinch Bros., an Everett-based glass and glazing company in business since 1892.
Scott is well-known for being an active community volunteer. His knowledge and enthusiasm has benefited many non-profit organizations in Everett. He currently serves as treasurer for the Greater Everett Community Foundation. He previously served on the boards of the Everett Public Schools Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters. He has also been willing to provide time and energy in many other areas benefiting the community. Scott was a member of the Everett Planning Commission for three years, and he was the Treasurer for the Medic One Levy effort in 2010. He was also a member of Everett’s Vision 2025 Task Force.
Scott Murphy has demonstrated his commitment to Everett in many ways, and will continue to be a valuable member of the City Council. I recommend electing him to the position Nov. 5!
