Seahawks game-day links
In today’s Herald, I look at the perceived struggles of the offense, which is actually doing pretty well considering the pieces missing. Also, take a look at how similar this year’s numbers are to last year’s. When you factor in that A. the Seahawks are playing with a beat-up line and will be getting Zach Miller back tonight, and adding Percy Harvin soon as well, and B. that last year’s numbers were inflated by that crazy three-game stretch in December, and the Seahawks should finish this year with pretty good offensive numbers.
Points per game (rank): 2012--25.8 (9), 2013--26.2 (9)
Point differential: 2012--+10.43 (3), 2013--+10.5 (3)
Total offense: 2012--350.6 (17), 2013--372.7 (10)
Rush offense: 2012--161.2 (3), 2013--157.7 (2)
Pass offense: 2012--189.4 (27), 2013--215.0 (24)
And speaking of Harvin, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that the receiver will return to practice next week. That’s not much of a surprise considering Carroll talked about how close Harvin was to returning this week, but it will be interesting to see how long he needs from when he starts practicing to when he’ll return to game action.
