Give your garden some love: Sorticulture, Everett’s garden arts festival, starts Friday and runs through the weekend. You’ll find lots of plants, handy tools for the garden and a wide variety of art for both your garden and home. The festival is in Legion Memorial Park. Tour the new hospital tower: Providence Regional Medical Center Everett will open up its new tower for tours during an open house from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The tower is at 1700 13th St. in Everett. Read more about the new hospital and see a video here.

Plant your own pizza pot: Kids can learn more about herbs and plant their own pizza pot to take home. The event is at 11 a.m. at The Plant Farm, 15022 Twin Lakes Ave., Marysville. $5 per child. Register at www.ThePlantFarm.com/kidsclub.htm or by calling 360-652-3351.

Watch some basketball: The Seattle Storm are practicing from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds-Woodway High School. The event is free and open to the public.

Ogle gorgeous cars: Arlington’s Show and Shine car show is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Olympic Avenue. There is also an accompanying street fair that started Thursday and runs through Saturday. Find more details here.

See a play: The Driftwood Players present “Born Yesterday,” the tale of the mistress of a rich man who smartens up. The show opens in Edmonds on Friday night and also plays Saturday and Sunday. Read more about it here.

Eat your yard: Sunnyside Nursery in Marysville is offering a class on edible landscapes. Find out how to use edibles to maximize their landscape value as well as flavor. The class is at 10 a.m. Saturday at 3915 Sunnyside Blvd. For more information, call 425-334-2002.

Let the kids garden: Children are invited to help at Sultan’s new community garden, which is scheduled to open Saturday morning. Bring your own gloves. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. The community gathering is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. in the A-Frame building of Volunteers of America, 701 First St. More details are here.

Go for a run or walk: The Strawberry Festival Berry Run is Saturday morning. Online registration is now closed, but you can sign up the day of the race; just be sure to arrive early. More details here.
