The man allegedly assaulted a deputy Friday morning and ran away into the woods to avoid being arrested, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The commotion started about 9 a.m. in the 4400 block of 192nd Avenue NW, south of Stanwood,
A deputy was in the area recovering a stolen pickup truck when he spotted 29-year-old Duane "DJ" R. Sanders of Stanwood, who had a warrant. Sanders fled, spurring the search.
About 7 p.m., Sanders surrendered at the jail, Ireton said.
The deputy's injuries were believed to be minor.
Sanders had a 32-year-old Stanwood woman with him during the initial confrontation with the deputy. She also was arrested.
