Our family has graduated from and taught in the Everett School District for generations, own a local business (that is over 100 years old), and are voting for Carol Andrews for the Everett School Board. For as long as anyone has lived around here, this community has been blessed with a public school system that has been and is a model for the nation. During Carol’s term, Everett’s schools have achieved high marks for education. For years our students outperformed the state on nearly all assessments, often by double digits. Year after year our schools are recognized as Washington Schools of Achievement and Schools Of Distinction. Also during Carol’s term the board has engaged hundreds of community members, students, and staff in developing a strategic plan, implementing college pathways and STEM plans to improve learning at all levels, and an Early Learning initiative with preschools so all children will be kindergarten ready.
This election pits Carol Andrews against an opponent who seems bent on opposing everything the district does instead of supporting our kids. Carol’s opponent only criticizes and has yet to express any plan to better our children’s or our community’s future. The prospect of our school board being taken over by this narrow-minded, self-centered behavior is unthinkable.
Carol Andrews is a key to our district’s success because she is qualified, thoughtful, principled and positive. We need her on the school board.
