Here’s a chance to study creatures from the black lagoon, or rather from the ponds and wetlands around the NW Stream Center.
The Adopt A Stream Foundation presents “Wetland Wrigglers” at 10 a.m. Thursday with zoologist Tom Noland and Adopt A Stream’s Cheryl Hartwig.
Just before the show begins Noland and Hartwig will net insects and amphibians from the restored wetlands near the center and place them in water-filled trays for visitors to observe through microscopes.
The pair will talk about the lives these creatures lead in their natural habitats, and using a video microscope, they will project some of them on a big screen.
All the critters will be carefully returned to their natural homes after the presentation.
The show is geared for elementary students to adults. Register by calling 425-316-8592. The program, which benefits the Streamkeeper Academy, is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.
The NW Stream Center is at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
