MILL CREEK — Police on Friday evening were searching Snohomish and King counties for a young mother who reportedly fled with her newborn daughter. The baby needed immediate medical attention, according to police.
An Amber Alert was issued Friday for Annabelle Martini, who was born about 6:30 a.m. Friday at a residence along Mill Creek Boulevard.
Annabelle’s mother, Jaime Martini, 20, is believed to be homeless, officer Ian Durkee said. The baby was born with breathing problems.
Martini reportedly told people she was taking the baby to the hospital. Police have been checking hospitals and walk-in clinics and haven’t seen the pair, Durkee said.
“We have a duty at this point to make sure the child’s OK,” he said.
Officers also were talking to friends and family members, not all of whom were cooperating with the investigation, Durkee said.
“We’re working with a little information and trying to develop more,” he said.
Jaime Martini was described as Native American with brown eyes and long, straight blonde hair. She is about 5-foot-3 and 135 pounds.
She may be in a 2001 white BMW 330CI, Washington license plate AJD7417, with an after-market hood, or a 1998 dark green Lexus SC400, Washington license plate 871WJF.
Anyone with information should call 911.
