Prep football: Concrete 41, Darrington 38

CONCRETE — Concrete’s Dallas Newby broke a 38-38 tie with a 25-yard field goal with seconds left in the fourth quarter, capping off 17 unanswered points as the Lions stunned Darrington. Garrett Green led the Loggers with 171 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Trent Green added a 70-yard kick off return for a touchdown, but Darrington could not contain Gibson Fichter, the Lions’ main offensive threat. Fichter rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns, had a 68-yard punt return touchdown and caught four passes for 80 yards.

“Fichter is a very fast and shifty little guy,” said Darrington coach Cory Ross. “They give him the ball a lot and we couldn’t stop him when we needed to.”
