MONROE -- Kaylee Fontes scored the game's only goal to lead Mount Vernon past Monroe in a Wesco 4A North clash that gave the Bulldogs the edge for the final district playoff spot. Mount Vernon is up two points on the Bearcats with one game remaining. The Bulldogs host first-place Snohomish on Wednesday, while Monroe travels to second-place Arlington.
