David Krueger, Herald Prep Reporter's AP Poll

4A

1. Camas
2. Skyline
3. Graham-Kapowsin
4. Ferris
5. Edmonds-Woodway
6. Chiawana
7. Federal Way
8. Union
9. Olympia
10. Gig Harbor

Notes: I keep thinking I should put Skyline No. 1 just as a reflex but Herald Prep Editor Aaron Swaney assures me Camas is the top team in 4A this year. It's possible I ranked Edmonds-Woodway too high, but the Warriors are undefeated and have to be ahead of something called "Chiawana." Which sounds like the Pacific Northwest version of Tijuana.

3A

1. Bellevue
2. O'Dea
3. Marysville-Pilchuck
4. Mount Si
5. Shadle Park
6. Glacier Peak
7. Eastside Catholic
8. Lincoln
9. Blanchet
10. Kamiakin

Notes: I really wanted to put Marysville Pilchuck No. 1 in this poll, but this is just my second week voting and I didn't want to be That Guy. I don't want angry e-mails from sports writers all over the state. They'll hurt my feelings. I do think the Tomahawks are close to O'Dea, and that would be a pretty exciting game. If it happens, it could be both team's personal 3A State Championship, because Bellevue appears to be everything it usually is (a powerhouse) and more again this season. ... Glacier Peak is a solid No. 6. The Grizzlies squeaked out a win against Meadowdale but remain 7-1 this season with their only loss coming to Bothell. I had Oak Harbor at No. 10 last week, but after a tough loss to Marysville Pilchuck I gave Kamiakin the edge. The Wildcats are my unofficial No. 11 team and could easily make it back into my poll with a couple of big wins.

2A

1. Tumwater
2. Lynden
3. Ellensburg
4. Lakewood
5. W.F. West
6. Sumner
7. R.A. Long
8. Mark Morris
9. White River
10. Othello

Notes: Tumwater and Lynden are GOOD! I really want to rank Lakewood higher, but I think the Cougars fit right in at No. 4. Lakewood has a tough battle against 1A King's (more on the Knights later in the poll) in what will be the Cascade Conference championship this Friday. A big win over the Knights might boost Lakewood into the top three, although Ellensburg (8-0) has been blowing opponents out.

1A

1. Zillah
2. Woodland
3. Cascade Christian
4. LaCenter
5. Freeman
6. King's
7. Mount Baker
8. Cashmere
9. River View
10. Okanogan

Despite a lot of new, young faces, King's has managed to have a very impressive season. The Knights are 7-1, with their lone loss coming against 2A No. 2 Lynden, so you can't really fault them a whole lot for that. If King's takes down Lakewood, another top-5 2A team, then the Knights might leapfrog a couple teams in the poll. If not, you really can't fault them a whole lot for that loss either.

2B

1. Morton/White Pass
2. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague High School
3. LaConner
4. Napavine
5. Raymond
6. Wahkiakum
7. Asotin
8. Tri-Cities Prep
9. Concrete|
10. Darrington

Notes: I'm sticking with the Darrington Loggers. Despite a tough loss to Concrete (which also gets a nod here at No. 9 because the Sidewalks too have had a good season and just beat Darrington so they should be ahead of them) Darrington's only other loss was to Neah Bay, which has been the top 1B team throughout the season. The Loggers will have a chance to redeem themselves this week when they take on No. 3 LaConner. The Braves (7-1) have had a very strong showing this season, making them very deserving of a top-three spot in 2B.

1B

1. Neah Bay
2. Touchet
3. Wilbur-Creston
4. Liberty Christian
5. Lummi

Aaron Swaney, Herald Prep Editor's AP Poll

Class 4A

1. Camas
2. Skyline
3. Graham-Kapowsin
4. Edmonds-Woodway
Note: I seem to have E-W higher than anybody, but 8-0 is 8-0. Scoreczar has them 5th.
5. Ferris, Joel E.
6. Chiawana
7. Gig Harbor
Note: Tides only loss is to 3A No. 2 O'Dea in Week 1 and win over Olympia is big.
8. Federal Way
9. Union
10. Olympia
Note: Bears deserve to be in poll despite 3 losses. Win over Bell Prep last Friday was a big one and two of three losses to is big-time Oregon school (Lake O) and No. 7 Gig Harbor.

Class 3A

1. Bellevue
Note: Put this down in permanent marker
2. O'Dea
3. Marysville-Pilchuck
Note: Win over Oak is nice, but not enough to jump O'Dea.
4. Shadle Park
5. Mount Si
6. Lincoln
Note: Nice win for the Abes over former No. 10 Wilson moves them up
7. Glacier Peak
Note: I have GP same spot as last week
8. Eastside Catholic
9. Kamiakin
Note: Braves enter poll because only losses are to 4A Richland and Chiawana
10. Blanchet

Class 2A

1. Tumwater
2. Lynden
Note: If Tumwater/Lynden is the 2A state title, which chances are it will be, circle the calendar. That game will be a doozy.
3. Ellensburg
4. Sumner
5. Lakewood
Note: Cougars need to beat somebody good to jump over E-burg or Sumner
6. R.A. Long
Note: R.A. Long only doesn't have a signature win, but 8-0 is 8-0.
7. W. F. West
8. Mark Morris
9. Othello
10. Sedro-Woolley
Note: Give Dave Ward credit. Cubs only losses are to 4A Mt. Vernon and No. 2 Lynden. Scoreczar has them ranked No. 7.

Class 1A

1. Zillah
2. Woodland
3. Cascade Christian
Note: Big win over former No. 10 Eatonville not enough to jump over Zillah/Woodland combo
4. LaCenter
5. Freeman
6. King's
Note: Only losses for both Knights and Mount Baker are to 2A Lynden, but King's has played slightly tougher schedule
7. Mount Baker
8. Cashmere
9. Connell
Note: Nice win over former No. 4 River View gets the Eagles in the poll
10. River View

Class 2B

1. Morton/White Pass
2. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague High School
3. LaConner
Note: The Braves have outscored past four opponents 235-13; face former No. 9 Darrington this Friday
4. Napavine
5. Raymond
6. Wahkiakum
7. Asotin
Note: Win over former No. 4 Waitsburg-Prescott and only losses are to top-ranked Idaho team (Grangeville) and former No. 8 Tri-Cities Prep
8. Concrete
Note: Win over former No. 9 Darrington gets the Lions in the poll. Scoreczar has them 8th.
9. Waitsburg-Prescott
10. North Beach

Class 1B

1. Neah Bay
2. Touchet
3. Wilbur-Creston
4. Liberty Christian
5. Lummi
Note: Blackhawks only losses are to No. 1 Neah Bay and 2B No. 3 La Conner
