I am supporting Rodman Reynolds and Kim Guymon in their pursuit of positions on the Everett School Board. I have become acquainted with their concerns and views thru the Everett School Board Project over the past couple of years. They do their homework on the issues and they think outside the box with their primary concern being the students. This, in my opinion, is what is needed.
It’s my understanding that the teacher unions are supporting Mr. Wenta and Ms. Andrews. I’d like to see the students represented for a change! As Scott Oki said in his book, “Outrageous Learning”: “We must figure out how to manage the business of public education without the costly administrative burden that is currently in place. We are the only country in the world where non-teaching administrative positions exceeds the number of teaching positions. Countries such as Japan, France, Belgium and Australia employ four teachers for every non-teaching employee. It seems only school systems in the United States employ more non-teachers than teachers!”
When I look at how much money went into the new administration building, it saddens me to think how that spending might have more directly benefited the students.
Please vote for Rodman and Kim and give our students what they deserve — a fresh outlook with the students as priority!
