PORTLAND — Portland police are investigating a complaint that a woman robbed three 14-year-old girls of their Halloween candy at knifepoint.
Sgt. Pete Simpson says the trick-or-treaters told responding officers they were walking down a street when they were approached by a woman who started a conversation. As the girls walked away, the woman pulled out a pocket knife and demanded the candy.
The victims relinquished their candy before remembering their phones were in the bags. The suspect allowed them to find their phones before getting into a waiting vehicle with the candy.
The suspect is described as 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds, with long brown hair. She was wearing black shorts and a black hoodie.
The vehicle is described as a green, 4-door Subaru.
Simpson says police gave the victims replacement candy.
