Prep volleyball: Darrington finishes 2nd at 2B district tournament

MOUNT VERNON -- The Darrington volleyball team split a pair of matches at the 2B district tournament, sweeping Orcas Island in the semifinals before getting swept by La Conner in the championship contest. The Loggers' Amy Miles had eight kills and nine aces and Tayler Hoftell added seven kills in the win over the Vikings. Miles also had eight kills against La Conner, but the Braves rolled to their 16th straight victory. Darrington will play Bear Creek in the first round of the 2B Bi-District tournament on November 9.
