MOUNT VERNON -- Garfield's Oscar Burney beat Arlington's Trent Sarver 6-3, 6-1 in a 4A Wesco-Kingco crossover tiebreaker that earned Burney a trip to the state tournament in May. In doubles play, Newport's Alex Namba and Derek Huang beat Kamiak's Dominic Lee and Garrett Peterson 6-1, 6-0 to advance to state.
At Skagit Valley College
Singles--Oscar Burney (Garfield) def. Trent Sarver (Arl) 6-3, 6-1, winner-to-state, loser out. Doubles--Alex Namba-Derek Huang (Newport) def. Dominic Lee-Garrett Peterson (Kam) 6-1, 6-0, winner-to-state, loser out.
