EUGENE, Ore. — An Oregon man who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall has pleaded guilty to six counts of bank robbery for crimes the FBI ascribed to the “Tall Man” bandit.
The Register-Guard reported that 26-year-old Chet Evans admitted Tuesday to robbing four Eugene banks and two more in Springfield between mid-February and mid-March.
He faces a maximum 20 years on each count when he’s sentenced in February in federal court.
Court records show nearly $12,500 in cash was stolen from the banks during the five-week crime spree.
