TACOMA — The Pierce County sheriff’s office says a 65-year-old Spanaway woman who was attacked Oct. 30 by two pit bull dogs died Wednesday of her injuries.
The News Tribune said the woman was identified as Nga Woodhead.
Deputies said she was attacked without provocation while walking down a street.
Witnesses said she tried to fend off the dogs with an umbrella. A man who tried to help her was bitten on the arm. Another passer-by with a handgun wounded one of the dogs, which ran away.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says deputies found the dogs near the scene and shot and killed them both.
Prosecutors are considering whether to charge the dogs’ owner.
