Friday Seahawks (and one Mariners) links

Good morning, folks. Lots of stuff out there to catch up on as the Seahawks prepare for their trip to Atlanta, though I must confess, none of it is from me, because I instead was at Lloyd McClendon's introductory press conference (you can read the column here if you're interested in more than Seahawks stuff).

Before you start reading, if you want to listen to some pretty fantastic radio while you read, check out John Moffitt's appearance on KJR yesterday. Moffitt, a former Seahawk who decided to walk away from the game, was in studio with Dave "Softy" Mahler yesterday.

And if you don't have time for 45 minutes of Moffitt, here's 10 minutes of him discussing his decision to retire with Mike Holmgren.

In today's Herald, we have this story from our friends at the News Tribune on Falcons rookie Desmond Trufant, a Tacoma native and former Husky. And, of course, the little brother of longtime Seahawk Marcus.

ESPN's Terry Blount also writes about Trufant, noting that he and Seahawks receiver Jermaine Kearse have been playing against and with each other since fourth grade.

NFL.com's Adam Schein looks at some of the Seahawks' flaws and says that despite their record, the Seahawks aren't the team to beat in the NFC. Not yet anyway.

The Audibles blog at SI.com breaks down every Week 10 matchup.

Falcons receiver Roddy White tells reporters in Atlanta that he expects to return from injury, but that there is no score to settle with Richard Sherman, who has said some less than flattering things about White's abilities.

Seahawks.com looks at Atlanta TE Tony Gonzalez and the challenges he presents.

Grantland.com has it's midseason awards, and no Seahawks are included (though Sherman gets a mention as a DPOY candidate). On the plus side, no Seahawks show up on Doug Farrar's all-disappointing team at SI.com either, so they've got that going for them.

Fieldgulls.com looks at Michael Robinson's run blocking in the latest installment of the always informative Xs and Os series.

Danny O'Neil of 710 ESPN Seattle looks at Seattle's struggling run D, and notes that the Seahawks started struggling in that area midway through last season as well.
