We must take care of the hungry

Regarding the article "Ensuring no one goes hungry" by Bill Sheets: There are more hungry kids out there than one might think. Kudos to the Packs for kids program for doing something about this. In fact, one in five kids in America is experiencing "food insecurity." This at a time when Congress is considering cutting the food stamp program. Fortunately, Rep. DelBene is on the conference committee for the farm bill where cuts or additions to the food stamp program will be decided. DelBene has tried living on a food stamp budget herself and knows how hard it is. To support the congresswoman and Americas hungry, write or call your representative and let them know it is time for America to take care of the hungry. These times of recession are not a time to remove the safety net.
