OAK HARBOR -- Oak Harbor couldn't have dialed up a better start.
Unfortunately for the Wildcats from Whidbey Island it was all downhill from there.
Mt. Si scored 40 unanswered points after giving up a touchdown on the third play from scrimmage to beat Oak Harbor 40-7 in a 3A Quad-District playoff game at Wildcats Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Dejon Devroe scored on a 59-yard touchdown run with less than two minutes off the clock. But it was all Mt. Si from there. Bailey Takacs scored on a 1-yard run to tie the score and quarterback Nick Mitchell scored on a 2-yard plunge to give the Wildcats from the Sammamish plateau a lead they would never give up.
Takacs finished with 191 yards rushing on 23 carries. Mitchell was 15-for-24 for 190 yards and three touchdowns passing to go with the one rushing touchdown.
Oak Harbor finishes its season 7-3. Mt. Si advances to the state playoffs and takes on O'Dea next weekend.
