Does GOP want to destroy Medicare?

Any one that voted for Paul Ryan's Medicare plan or approves of it approves of moving 50 million seniors to health-care exchanges for them to get their insurance. For the last couple of weeks we have heard these same folks rail against moving millions of uninsured to a health-care exchange system. Why are Republicans so interested in moving 50 million more onto a system that they say can't work? Are they hoping to destroy Medicare? That might be the case, or as many of us already know (including some Republicans), the health-care exchanges will work fine soon; it is only Congress that is really broken. I do not want to see Medicare privatized like Ryan is suggesting, but it is kind of ironic that his solution mimics Obamacare and so many on the Right approve of it.
