EVERETT -- A Mill Creek man is suspected in a stabbing that left a man staggering in the street Saturday afternoon with blood pouring from his neck.
The attack occurred in the 600 block of 128th Street SW. The victim told police he was walking and sending text messages on his phone when a car pulled up nearby.
The suspect, 27, climbed out of the vehicle and said, "I told you this was going to happen," and then stabbed the man in the neck.
The victim later told a Snohomish County sheriff's deputy that the suspect confronted him the day before at an Everett convenience store. The Mill Creek man was angry about the victim's connections to a woman. He allegedly threatened to stab him if he ever saw him again.
Until he noticed the blood, the victim believed he had been punched in the neck. He kept pressure on the wound until paramedics arrived.
The suspect fled but was arrested a few hours later at an area casino.
