"He has a chance," Carroll said. "He made it through practice today, we’ll see how it affects him tomorrow, then we’ll call it. But he looked good, he practiced, did everything. He’s asked me about returning kickoffs already, so he’s all over it. He’s excited about it."
Harvin is listed as probable on the injury report, and he echoed his coach's day-to-day talk, but he also said, "I definitely think I'm ready to play.
If Harvin does indeed play, however, don't expect him to be on the field every play. The more likely scenario is that the Seahawks ease him in with limited duty this week, the build up his role through the end of the year.
"I won’t say what I can and can’t do, I would just say it would be crazy for me to think I can go out there and play the amount of plays I was able to play before and do all the things I was," he said. "I’m able to do some of the things, but it’s still day-to-day and we’ll see.
On Harvin's week of practice, Carroll said, "He made it through the week just right. He did everything that we asked of him, he was full speed on every opportunity, he looked great, he knows the offense, he understands what’s going on. It’s only understandable that he might be a little rusty with some stuff, he hasn’t played a lot of football, so we won’t load him up with too much and hopefully he can contribute and help us win."
Carroll also said it's wait-and-see on tackles Breno Giacomini and Russell Okung, who practiced the past two weeks. Giacomini, who has been out since suffering a Week 3 knee injury, is listed as questionable. Okung, meanwhile, is not on the injury report because he has not yet been added to the active roster from injured reserve. Expect that move to happen tomorrow.
As for who might come off the roster, it sounds like there's a good chance Brandon Browner is going on injured reserve, so that could free up a spot for Okung.
Asked about Browner's status, Carroll said, "He’s been fully diagnosed, and we’re waiting until the last possible second to do what we want to do, just because we can, so we’re just going to wait it out."
While that doesn't for sure mean Browner to IR, it certainly sounds like the Seahawks are prepared to make a roster move. If the Seahawks feel they need more depth at cornerback, they could activate DeShawn Shead off the practice squad, but that would mean an additional move to get Okung on the roster.
Red Bryant and Max Unger, who both missed last week's game with a concussion, will play.
"Those guys are fine," Carroll said. "They both made it through the week all right. They’re going."
On CB Jeremy Lane, who missed yesterday's practice with a thigh injury, Carroll said, "He’s fine."
On DT Tony McDaniel, who injured his hamstring last week, Carroll said, "He did extra work today to make sure he’s OK; I think we have him down as questionable at this point. We’ll wait and see how he is tomorrow, that will be another game-day decision."
