The leather-front T-shirt (C&C California Leather T Shirt, $84) over tartan leggings (Aqua Leggings Plaid Ponte Zipper, $78) with studded booties (Boutique 9 Black Bootie with Gold Studs, $220) is an easy silhouette to replicate and tones down the punk-rock feel. Add a white tuxedo jacket and it works for work. Also shown: the Cambridge Satchel Company Satchel ($135). All from Bloomingdale's Fashion Island.

Work-appropriate moto is totally doable if it's a two-piece suit (Rebecca Taylor Tweed Moto Vest, $425, and Tweed Flounce Skirt, $295) over punk-worthy stripes (Aqua Striped Button Up Blouse, $68) and paired with an iridescent clutch (Milly Holographic Clutch, $375). Also shown: Sam Edelman "Petty" Short Leather Boots ($130). All from Bloomingdale's Fashion Island.

It is the biggest trend this season, but to plenty of everyday fashionistas -- some who were here when the looks were born and some who have been around for each iteration thereafter -- it never went away.
I'm talking about the punk, rocker, neo-grunge trends that populated the fall 2013 runways (and even showed up on some spring 2014 runways, too).
I have been wearing the basic elements of this look -- biker/moto jacket, lace-up combat-style boots, boyish flats (I am not a ballet flat kind of girl), black, plaid, graphic shirts, leopard and leather -- for most of my life (which is a lot longer than I'd like to admit) and nothing gives me more pleasure than to pull out well-worn pieces to mix with newer on-trend items.
I have had a great time finding new ways to wear various Doc Martens, leather jackets and studded et ceteras.
All clothing, accessories and shoes courtesy of Bloomingdale's Fashion Island.
