EDMONDS -- Police in Edmonds on Monday released surveillance photographs of the suspect in an Alaska Credit Union robbery that occurred the day before.
The robbery happened at the credit union inside the Safeway store in the 23000 block of Highway 99 around 1:20 p.m. Sunday.
A man handed the teller a note, indicating he had a gun. He demanded all the money. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then left the bank heading south through the Safeway store parking lot, police Sgt. Mark Marsh said.
The suspect was described by witnesses as having a small build and being in his early 20s. He is about 5 foot, 7, with brown hair, a scruffy beard and slight mustache. The man was wearing a checkered hooded sweatshirt that had large squares, with a white T-shirt underneath, and gray-and-white tennis shoes, witnesses told police.
Edmonds police are investigating.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Edmonds Police Department tip line at 425-771-0212.
