Martha Stewart has new book out just in time for the holidays.
No, it's not about swathing your front door in greenery and dried fruit, or making a perfectly sparkled sugar cookie, or growing your own herbs to dry and put in cute beribboned jars.
It's called "Living the Long Good Life, A Practical Guide to Caring for Yourself and Others."
It's Martha's advice for the next phase of life, her "golden rules for successful aging," according to the flyleaf.
Putting all snickering aside, I have to say Martha is an expert on just about everything. She offers good advice, detailed instructions and enticing photography in this handbook for anyone over 40.
The chapter list begins with Healthy Eating and Healthy Fitness, and continues through your brain, your outlook and your looks, right up to living into the future and caring for others, such as your aging parents.
And what she doesn't know, she asks, calling upon experts in every field: doctors, trainers, dietitians, psychologists, even bankers.
The hefty book sells for $27.50 and has a shelf-life of, oh, just about forever.
